On their way home

Just wanted everyone to know that Martin & Jani left Joplin this morning just before 9am. They should be on their first flight right now to Denver. In spite of this nasty ice storm, the Lord is good and He has provided them with an amazing amount of strenth to get through all of this...though they might not feel strong...the Lord's hand is heavy on them.

Please pray that they will have continued good travel and that they might be able to sleep on their flights. They will be leaving Denver this evening just after 5:30 and arrive in Germany where they will have a very long layover. They should arrive in South Africa on Thursday!

We miss you already!

Martin & Jani,

Well, maybe all this ice and cold will make home that much sweeter upon arrival.

What a blessing the two of you have been on the lives of the Bond Family. We are so thankful that God allowed our paths to cross on this side of Eternity.

Your family has taught me and let me see even more about what God meant in Hebrews 11:13-16

"All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance. And they admitted that they were aliens and strangers on earth. People who say such things show that they are looking for a country of their own. If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had opportunity to return. Instead, they were longing for a better country—a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them."

None of us are "at home" in any country. And each of us should long for what is to come. We build walls and fill them with stuff and try to create our own eternities. Sometimes it takes lack of power and ice storms to realize that our attempt at eternities are insufficient.

So we long for a land that we have not seen, yet is home. May we all be faithful so the One will not be ashamed for us to call Him God as he prepares an Eternity for each of us!

Man. Life has stunk this past week. Power was out, you guys left, and I've had to most terrible sleep of my life the past few nights. But I can take comfort in knowing that you are thinking of us just like we're thinking of you both. I hope your entrance back into your culture is a smooth ride. Your in my prayers daily, usually when I am washing my hair or brushing my teeth.

Martin & Jani,

Carole and I miss you! We were so disapointed that we did not get to hear Martin play one more time with the worship team at CCO and that the "farewell reception" had to be cancelled because of the weather.

We are praying for you and know that God will bless you in a special way, just as He blessed us when He placed you at CCO and allowed us to get to know you.
